Companies are slowly discovering the potential of using blogs within their company, it offers a great way of communication between the organisations staff as to what is happening with the development and production of certain products at one area of the company.
Google’s Main blog is a great example of the use of blogging within an organisation. This blog has benefits and downfalls towards what is published to be read by others, benefits that Google has in using this blog is that they give an insight into their products, technology and it’s culture. Downfalls are that the bloggers for Google may not be too careful as to what they have posted and may potentially leak problems that will arise in the future which will require fixes being implemented. Twitter has as well been a useful tool for Google, in providing many users with vital information into what is happening at the Google Headquarters. The benefits that Google has when using Twitter is that they can post short but succinct information that it’s followers will be able to read. Limitations on what is to be said in the 140 character limit, that Twitter has on its posts.
